Property Assessor

The Town of Saugerties, NY, with the largest number of parcels in Ulster County, is seeking to fill the position of Property Assessor for the Town and Village. The Assessor is responsible for the determination of the estimated value of all real properties in the Town and Village in accordance with the New York State Office of Real Property Services (NYORPS) guidelines and procedures. The Assessor administers and supervises all work of the Assessor’s Office (supervises staff of three) and service providers to ensure that:

• the Town maintains assessments at a uniform percentage of market value each year
• the public is kept informed through open communication
• concerns and questions of individual Taxpayers regarding their assessed values are reviewed in a timely and professional manner in accordance with NYORPS standards
• the Town complies with NY State and Ulster County Office of Real Property Services requirements
