Gerry Geist is the Executive Director of the Association of Towns of the State of New York. He has been involved in the operation of town government in New York since 1985 when he was first elected as a town board member for the Town of North Castle, Westchester County. He was subsequently re-elected to the town board five consecutive times. Mr. Geist was also a past president of the Association of Towns, serving from May 2007 to April 2008.
Mr. Geist is currently serving on various advisory committees within New York State government, such as the Comptrollers Advisory Committee on the State and Local Government Employees Retirement System and the New York State Emergency Medical Services Council.
Gerry Geist has served in many volunteer organizations and service organizations. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, attended the University of North Carolina and received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is married and has three children. Mr. Geist is an attorney and has been admitted to the New York State Bar since 1980.
