Piggybacking Extended through June 30, 2027

On June 29, 2026, Governor Hochul signed legislation (S.10075-A/A.11162-A) extending the ability to piggyback as an alternative to the public bidding process through June 30, 2027. 

This follows a Third Department ruling in Maine-Endwell School District v. Lynch that piggybacking cannot be used on public works projects. Stay tuned for further clarification and updates.
